In partnership with Project G.R.A.C.E, we present a story read by Scarborough author Jane Rogers Ducott. Her recently published Giff and Emmi Rescue the Garden features the rescue of a community garden by rescue dogs! Did you know Scarborough has a community garden where children are welcome? Cumberland County Master Gardeners will be on hand for gardening Q &A. Learn more at the ScarboroughHelps.org tent at the Scarborough Farmers' Market! Stop by for crafts and activities, the 10:00am garden story reading or the 11:00am reading. Bring your garden questions! Free and open to the public.
A portion of the proceeds from Giff and Emmi Rescue the Garden will benefit the Project GRACE back to school backpack program and the Community Garden at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Scarborough. St. Nicholas Episcopal Church plants and harvests one of three community vegetable gardens for distribution at the Scarborough Food Pantry. Jane Rogers Ducott is St. Nick’s contact person.
