St. Nicholas Episcopal Church in Scarborough, Maine is delighted to announce that we have called a new priest-in-charge.
Help us welcome The Rev. Dr. Ted J. Gaiser who comes to us with a wide range of education and experience that includes several years as an Episcopal missionary in Colombia where he remains a Canon. He has traveled extensively supporting mission engagement and partnership development, and led, co-led, or participated in several mission delegations to the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.
Although he considers himself a New Englander, has also lived in Bolivia, Paraguay and Colombia. He has served many churches, including a Spanish-speaking congregation in Colombia, and also served on two bishops’ staffs.
Fr. Ted has served on many non-profit boards, and was President of the Board for the Global Episcopal Mission Network (GEMN), a network of mission leaders throughout the Episcopal Church. In addition to international mission, Ted’s ministry has included cooking in soup kitchens, pastoral care on the streets of Boston, and chaplaincies in inner-city senior housing and a prison for youth offenders. Along with being a priest, Fr. Ted has taught in universities, worked in management, and has a personal financial consulting practice.
We continue to also be lead by our Co-Wardens, Kelly Martino and Cynthia Nye (pictured above).
