ABOUT THE MUSIC
This Sunday we welcome Helen Strout who will sing throughout the service. Helen is from Cape Elizabeth and has been singing since a child. A fine musician, Helen not only sings but plays piano and flute. Not long ago she performed the lead role in Cape Elizabeth High’s production of “Footloose”.
For prelude she will sing “In My Father’s House” by American gospel music composer Aileene Hanks Williams (1933-1997).
For offertory she will sing “Up To the Mountain”. This song was composed by living American composer/singer Patty Griffin (b. 1964) in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King. It is appropriate for two reasons: 1) It compliments our gospel lesson and 2) This is “Black History Month”.
For postlude, Helen will sing “Come To Jesus” by American singer Mindy Smith (b. 1972). Please welcome Helen to St. Nicholas.
The St. Nicholas Chimers will have a short rehearsal after Coffee Hour today. Please join us!
