 ABOUT THE MUSIC

This Sunday our guest singer is Marissa Brown of Gorham.  For prelude she will sing “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus” whose words were written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788), with music from the 18th century as arranged by William Henry Havergal (1793-1870).  Marissa will sing for offertory the beautiful “O Day Of Peace” which was composed by Charles Hubert Hastings Perry (1848-1918), with lyrics by living Episcopal priest Carl P. Daw, Jr. (b. 1944).  For postlude she will share the contemporary Advent carol “Mary, Did You Know?” by living composers Mark Lowry (b. 1958) and Buddy Greene (b. 1953).

The St. Nicholas Chimers will rehearse music for Christmas Eve after Coffee Hour today.  Please join us!

Chocolate Bars

Once again this holiday season, we will be selling Equal Exchange chocolate bars.  They are sustainably sourced and provide a living wage for Latin American farmers.  AND in this case since this is a fundraiser, the proceeds will also benefit the health work of Konbit Sante in northern Haiti.  They will be available in several varieties, and sell for $5 each or 3 for $12.  I also have a limited supply of Equal Exchange Baking Cocoa and Hot Chocolate Mix ($6/can).  Thank you in advance for your support!
