Sunday, February 3 – Annual Meeting

At the Annual Meeting, the major activities of the parish are summarized, the budget is reviewed and elections are held for open positions on the Bishop’s Committee, officers of the parish and delegates to the Diocesan Convention.

On February 3, we will hold our annual Souper Bowl of Caring (to coincide with the annual American holiday, Super Bowl Sunday). We welcome your cash or check donations, into one of 2 soup pots (one in the entryway, and one in the back of the sanctuary), to be given to a local project fighting poverty and hunger.  Checks can be made out to St. Nicholas, with “Souper Bowl of Caring” in the memo.  Past recipients have included Project Grace, Logan Place, and the Essentials Pantry, among others.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Candidates for the Next Bishop of Maine

Candidates for Bishop have been presented. Please thoughtfully review the information on the bulletin board and online at www.episcopalmaine.org

and present your choices to Kelly & Jane. We will be representing St Nick’s at the election in February.

SPRUCING UP ST. NICK’S

We would like to get a “team” together to start to repair/paint the small “chapel room” for Sunday school (Sara would like to bring her children and Michael Dill is also interested in a Sunday school space).  Hopefully we will only need to get together for a few nights. We need to patch small holes, spackle the screw holes and paint. We can get together Friday or Saturday afternoon or Saturday nights for maybe a couple hours at a time.

Anyone interested in helping??   Please let Kelly or Cynthia know.  Thanks!

The Green Power monthly sign-up sheet for 2019 is posted on the Bolger Board (thank you to several of you who have already signed up!).  As a reminder, this is an invitation to folks who want to volunteer to provide the monthly fee ($36 additional per month) on our CMP electric bill that supports generation of electricity from Maine-based renewable resources.  This helps reduce our portion of fossil fuel use.  Thank you for your generosity.
