ABOUT THE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

The prelude for this last Sunday of Advent is “Sing of Mary” by living American composer, Robert Hebble (b. 1934).

The offertory is “Mary Did You Know” by Mark Lowry and Buddy Greene, contemporary composers.

The postlude is “Glory to God” from “Handel’s Messiah” by George Frideric Handel (1685-1759 A.D.).

Shannon Allen, cellist, will play throughout our Christmas Eve service as well as our chimers.  The chimers practice after Coffee Hour today.

There will be lots of popular and sacred music at our St. Nicholas Holiday Party this coming Friday night, December 28th, at 6:30pm.  The event is a pot-luck with pizzas and drinks provided.  Please bring accompaniments (salad, dessert, snacks, etc.—whatever) to share.  There will be games, prizes and lots of Christmas and New Year fun.  Don’t miss it!  Bring your friends!

Chocolate to Benefit Konbit Sante

Chocolate bars, hot cocoa mix and baking cocoa will be for sale after church today and next week. Proceeds after cost benefit Konbit Sante’s work to improve healthcare in northern Haiti.  A percentage of all we purchase from Equal Exchange is also donated to Episcopal Relief & Development.  FMI—Nancy Nickerson

Candidates for the Next Bishop of Maine

 and present your choices to Kelly & Jane. We will be representing St Nick’s at the election in February.  On Sunday, January 20 we will host candidate Rev. Kenneth Brannon and his wife as part of the selection process.

Volunteer Opportunity – Church Office

Cathy Bennett is retiring from her office duties as of the end of January. We are looking for someone who would like to make up the church bulletin each week, as well as keep up the church website and social media sites.  Please see Cathy, Kelly or Cynthia if you are interested.
