Opening:  #379 – “God Is Love, Let Heaven Adore Him”

Gospel:  #80 – “Jesus, Savior, Pilot Me” (LEVAS Hymnal)

Closing:  #579 – “Almighty Father, Strong to Save”

The prelude for this Sunday is “Poem Eroica” by English organist and composer H. B. Weatherdon (biography dates unknown).

The offertory is “Air With Variations” by German/English composer George Frideric Handel (1685-1759 A.D.).

The postlude is “Let Everything That Hath Breath” by living composer George Arthur Pass II.  This piece is not to be confused with the Jeffery Ames piece we are currently working on after Coffee Hour each Sunday.  We will rehearse this exciting piece again this Sunday immediately following refreshments after the service.  Please join us!  This is a big piece which would profit from lots of voices.

Once a month, we encourage members to bring food items for donation to the Scarborough Food Pantry.  During the summer they especially need foods for kids to eat for breakfasts and lunches.  Items like granola bars, cereals, peanut butter and jelly, tuna, applesauce are greatly appreciated.

Tuesday, July 31 – St. Elizabeth’s Essentials Pantry

Volunteers are needed to help distribute items to local residents.  Please see Terry Foster if you can help out.  We have a donation basket in our entryway.  Items that are most needed at this time are: summer clothing for adults and children, individually packaged toothbrushes, soup pots of 4 quarts or larger, footwear, new socks for adults and children, new underwear for adults and children, all eating utensils (dishes, cups, mugs, glasses, forks, knives and spoons), bedding (blankets, sheets, pillowcases), towels, backpacks for adults and children, and children’s strollers.

Check out the garden!  It is looking great, with spinach, lettuce, chives, basil, peas and more coming up!
