ABOUT THE INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

On this Sunday for prelude the St. Nicholas Chimers will play “Harmonious Choirchimes” by living composer Paul Rosens.

 For offertory they will play “This Is My Father’s World” by noted American clergyman and composer Maltie Babcock (1858-1901 A.D.) as arranged by living composer Greg Howlett.

The organ postlude will be “Toccata in D Minor” by Belgian composer Alphonse Mailly (1833-1918 A.D.).

At the Annual Meeting, the major activities of the parish are summarized, the budget is reviewed and elections are held for open positions on the Bishop’s Committee, officers of the parish and delegates to the Diocesan Convention.

On February 4, Super Bowl Sunday, we will have our annual

“SOUPER BOWL OF CARING”.  Please donate cash or checks made out to St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, and we will contribute to a local organization helping with issues of hunger and poverty.  Thank you for your generosity!

Also, Nancy Nickerson will be selling Fair Trade chocolate bars during coffee hour to benefit Konbit Sante, just in time for Valentine’s Day!

St. Nick’s next day at the St. Elizabeth’s Jubilee Center is Tuesday, February 13th, at the cathedral (9-11am). Please speak with Terry Foster for more details.

 

Sunday, February 18 – Giving Sunday – On the third Sunday of each month we encourage members to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the Scarborough Food Pantry.  Thanks for your generosity!
