This Sunday our St. Nicholas Folk Ensemble with John Nye (guitar) and Mark Heels (bass) will share their joy with us.

As prelude they will sing “Come Everybody, Let’s Sing God’s Praise” by living composer Audrey Podmore of England.  The chorus of this song is so easy, so join us if you can.  The words are:

“Come on, everybody let’s sing God’s praise!  In a joyful melody our voices
raise.  Come on, everybody and join the throng praising God in song.”

For offertory they will share “Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley”, an African-American spiritual.

For postlude they will share “Will There Be Any Stars in My Crown?” by American composer John Robson Sweney (1837-1899A.D.).

“Adopt a Preacher”:  We have launched “Adopt a Preacher,” to request your financial sponsorship for our guest preachers for 10 Sundays in the fall ($150/week) when our vicar will be on sabbatical.  This was not an anticipated expenditure.  All 10 slots are filled!  Thank you, St Nickers, for so generously stepping up as you characteristically do.  Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks to Nancy Nickerson and Dick and Anna Hamilton for providing and serving the residents of Logan Place with supper last week.  If you are interested in helping with this outreach, please speak to Nancy Nickerson.
